Mr. Gasket's solicor head gaskets are for high-performance bimetal (aluminum/iron) engine applications with 12-to-1 or greater compression ratios, turbocharged, supercharged, and nitrous engines. Solicor gaskets are the ultimate for sealing the combustion chamber and ensuring the microseal of engine fluids. Solicor gaskets are composed of a high-density, non-asbestos facing laminated to a solid steel core. The core provides radial strength for a steel wire ring encased in the stainless steel combustion flange (ideal for high-combustion chamber pressures). A unique fluorocarbon coating is applied for maximum sealing of both cast iron and aluminum cylinder heads. Mr. Gasket's solicor head gasket has a solid steel core center and a laminated outer facing. This head gasket fits the 1957-96 Small Block Chevrolet 283-350 V-8. Also included is the vortec engine from 1996-2001. Also may be used on the 400 with steam holes. The gasket bore is 4.190 inch and has a compressed thickness of .042 inch. see details
